Labyrinths need not be expensive
or elaborate to be effective. They are often made portable by painting
them on a huge canvas.One can even “finger walk” one printed on paper.
The labyrinth I constructed in my side yard (shown below with Job Foreman
Shady Shanley inspecting the work progress) was dug with a sharpened lawn
edging tool. The resulting mini-trench was then filled in with pea stone.
The diameter is 28 feet and total cost for the stone was about $30.
The meditative aspect of a labyrinth
seems to extend to it’s construction and it’s maintanence
as well as the act of walking it’s
path.
