The Butt Stop Art Bench

The Butt Stop Art contest was sponsored by

the Springfield Business Improvement District and

the Pioneer Valley Transit Company.

There were 11 benches, in 3 different styles, which artists

were invited to decorate in an effort to promote bus ridership and

the downtown business district. Out of over 100 national entries,

my design -- "The Sofa" -- was chosen for one of those eleven benches.

The finished work was ready to go on the 26th,

and the unveiling of the bench was on June 27, 2003.
